FINANCE ASSISTANT

Century City / Cape Town

The purpose of this role is to take responsibility for finance administration and alleviate work flow from the Finance Team. You will report directly to the Financial Controller.
 
Responsibilities: 
Admin – admin of Telkom, Vodacom accounts etc. Company fuel accounts etc.
Inventory – responsible for admin of inventory process and capturing variances and reporting
Creditors – back up to the Creditors Clerk
Debtors
 
Requirements:
Accounts Receivable and admin (required) / Accounts Payable (Beneficial)
Matric with mathematics
Fluency in English and Afrikaans
Literacy and numerical ability
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (MS Excel, Outlook & Word)
Resilient and energetic personality
Initiative
Ability to perform under pressure
Attention to detail
Organisational and problem solving skills

DEBTORS ADMINISTRATOR
Century City/Cape Town

The purpose of this role is to take full responsibility for the timeous collection of all outstanding accounts. You will report directly to the Financial Controller.
 
Responsibilities:
Debtors process – ensure all cash receipts are captured and matched to invoices, reconcile accounts to SAGE including export accounts, manage overdue accounts, recon cash sales and debtors accounts, send weekly sales journals
Sales process – review and submit credit applications to bank, actively contact clients to recover debt, follow up and reporting of overdue accounts, full knowledge of sales process
Admin – open new accounts, trade ref for customers, liaise with clients, ensure client master files are kept in order, liaise with auditors, load POD’s on system
 
Requirements:
Grade 12
5 years’ experience in debtors control in a similar (pressurised, fast paced) environment
Fluency in English and Afrikaans
Literacy and numerical abilities
Experience in navigating and utilising an ERP system (e.g. SAGE)
Working knowledge of MS Excel and Word (minimum Intermediate)
Time management, communication and organisational skills
Attention to Detail/Accuracy
Flexible
Ability to perform well under pressure
Ability to handle difficult and/or rude customers well
