FINANCE ASSISTANT

Century City / Cape Town

The purpose of this role is to take responsibility for finance administration and alleviate work flow from the Finance Team. You will report directly to the Financial Controller.
 
Responsibilities: 
Admin – admin of Telkom, Vodacom accounts etc. Company fuel accounts etc.
Inventory – responsible for admin of inventory process and capturing variances and reporting
Creditors – back up to the Creditors Clerk
Debtors
 
Requirements:
Accounts Receivable and admin (required) / Accounts Payable (Beneficial)
Matric with mathematics
Fluency in English and Afrikaans
Literacy and numerical ability
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (MS Excel, Outlook & Word)
Resilient and energetic personality
Initiative
Ability to perform under pressure

Responsibilities:
Manage Subordinates: 
Conduct performance management of team members
Manage discipline of team Execute company disciplinary procedures          
Plan and manage leave
Manage training and development of subordinates       
Appoint staff
Conduct departmental meetings
Ensure effective deliveries and cost control:
Ensure route optimization
Ensure deliveries are executed according to standard operating procedures      
Manage and control departmental fixed cost and report variances             
Compile personnel and fixed cost budgets      
Develop alternative cost-effective models to lower c/l cost
Manage Customer Relations:    
Conduct customer surveys and implement industry best practise            
Attend to customer queries and complaints   
Manage customer relations with internal and external customers            
Assist in internal and external audits
Manage Safety:
Manage department in terms of OSH Act and security in terms of company policy and procedures
 
Requirements:
Tertiary qualification in Transport Management / Logistics or similar or substantial progress towards obtaining such a qualification
5 Years relevant working experience in an FMCG environment
Good knowledge of administrative and financial processes
Through skills and knowledge of the distribution and supply chain process
Sound knowledge of MS: Package, Roadshow, ERMS, DRM and Bestime
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Willingness to work irregular hours
Good managerial skills in managing subordinates
Sound knowledge and understanding of IR processes
Valid Driver’s licence

Responsibilities:
Training of staff and customers on all products being sold.
Telephonic and direct after sales support on all products being sold.
Testing and evaluating of all products when required.
Following and abiding to all internal departmental procedures.
Correct completion of all paperwork required.
Reporting on all aspects to products managers and HOD
 
Requirements:
Matric certificate
Valid Driver Licence
5 Years minimum experience in the security or electronics industry
Computer skills (Outlook, Excel and Word)
Own Transport with valid driver’s license essential.
Networking skills would be an advantage.
Tertiary Electrical or Electronic qualification would be an advantage
Experience on CCTV and Paradox Security Equipment will be an advantage
