MICRO LAB MANAGER 

Port Elizabeth                  

Requirements:                 
 
B.Sc Microbiology/Biotechnology or NTD/HNTD
Microbiology/Medical Technology
5 years working experience in pharmaceutical microbiology laboratory with 2 years supervisory/managerial experience.
Experience within manufacturing environment Advantages
 
Responsibilities:             

  • Development/Update and implementation of written procedures and validation protocols, where required
  • Ensuring all documentation and records are logged and up to date in the appropriate logbooks, report sheets etc
  • Requisition and controlled use of consumable goods and equipment through the implementation of a capex compilation, budget and budget planning
  • Ensuring that the maintenance, validation and calibration of all microbiology laboratory equipment are performed as required
  • Overseeing the completion of all microbiological validation and stability testing requirements.
  • Ensuring the implementation of GMP and GLP and Good Housekeeping Practices in the laboratory, to ensure correct test performance which will yield valid results, satisfy clothing requirements, and ensure cleaning is to the standards required for each area class
  • Approval for release of all microbiology related test results
  • Upgrading of all test methods, equipment and facilities to ensure continued compliance to current standards
  • Problem solving to resolve out of specification results
  • Monthly report on department output indication microbiological control of factory site.
  • Monitoring and ensuring internal and external audit compliance to both regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Administrative duties to ensure easy retrieval of test results, reports, protocols, etc.
  • From time to time carry out other jobs within the department / factory, which are consistent with the grade, qualification and training of the incumbent.
  • Control and optimise the cost within the department
  • Set quality and performance KPI’s for the department and monitor the departmental performance on a defined frequency
  • Continuously improve processes to introduce World Class Manufacturing practices within the business
  • Identify opportunities for productivity and efficiency improvements
  • Manage all personnel in the department including disciplinary procedures
  • Ensure that all personnel in the department is developed and trained as required by the various job functions
  • Recruitment of staff
  • Staff development regarding identifying needs and opportunities
  • Performance Management evaluation
  • Review salaries and promotions if applicable
  • Implementation of equity plan as set out in the Employment Equity Policy

PROJECT OPERATIONS MANAGER

Requirements:                 
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Social Sciences, Project Management or similar field
Minimum five years of professional experience in a corporate environment with coordination,
project formulation and implementation skills within an administrative role
Background in NGO sector with existing stakeholders in the local community advantageous
Proven experience in dealing with operational, staff and organisational management
Strong planning and organisational skills
Advanced report writing and presentation skills
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office – including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Self-motivated, a self-starter and able to work with limited supervision
Ability to use own initiative and take ownership of tasks
Excellent spoken language in English
Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle
Must be flexible to work irregular hours and work according to needs of the project
Experience in human resources, financial literacy and sales and marketing
Proven experience in Project Management with multiple team members and departments

possible solutions and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem
Engage with community stakeholders to establish partnerships, educate community partners
Manage project risk and develop preventative measures

MICROBIOLOGIST SUPERVISOR

Requirements:                 
A minimum of 3 years’ experience + Supervisor
Experience in the pharmaceutical industry will be advantageous
Computer literacy (MS Office, Visio, Syspro,)
 
Responsibilities:             
Ensuring compliance to currently guidelines and GMP practice
Assist in external Audit as SME’s for respective departmental sections
SOP writing, training and protocols development and execution and report writing
Approval for release of all microbiology related test results
Logbook review and signing to ensure compliance with GRK
Ensuring timeous testing and release of Microbial Analysis
Oversee maintenance of cultures, medical & standards in the MicroLab (QC control & GPT).
Execute & participation on Events, Change controls, CAPA etc.
Completion of OOS/OOT investigation and Hypothesis testing when required
Basic Purchasing/ordering (As required for Lab use)
Ensuring correct use, maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment et Pipette, pH meters.
Method Validation of products and raw materials
Qualification of Analysts/Instruments/Cleanrooms/Personnel when required
Activate participation of Micro related projects which are aimed at reducing OOS results both in the laboratory and production
Staff management and related administrative duties
Completion of batch release queries for product release purposed
Training of new staff in accordance to the Job specific function
Compliance with the Self-Inspection when required
From time to time, carry out other jobs within the factory /department, consistent with the grade qualification and training of the incumbent
