B.Tech or N5/N6 Instrumentation
5 years’ experience in process control environment
5 years’ experience on Siemens PLC range S7-300 to 1500’s
 
Responsibilities:             
Ensure uptime of the process control and instrumentation environment
Maintain process control and instrumentation environment
Training – sharing of knowledge to artisans and technicians to enable better understanding of the process
Standby duties
Accessible to give remote support

MICRO LAB MANAGER

Requirements:                 
BSc Microbiology/Biotechnology or NTD/HNTD
Microbiology/Medical Technology
5 years working experience in pharmaceutical microbiology laboratory with 2 years supervisory/managerial experience.
Experience within manufacturing environment Advantages
 
Responsibilities:             

Development/Update and implementation of written procedures and validation protocols, where required

Ensuring all documentation and records are logged and up to date in the appropriate logbooks, report sheets etc

Requisition and controlled use of consumable goods and equipment through the implementation of a capex compilation, budget and budget planning

Ensuring that the maintenance, validation and calibration of all microbiology laboratory equipment are performed as required

Overseeing the completion of all microbiological validation and stability testing requirements.

Ensuring the implementation of GMP and GLP and Good Housekeeping Practices in the laboratory, to ensure correct test performance which will yield valid results, satisfy clothing requirements, and ensure cleaning is to the standards required for each area class

Approval for release of all microbiology related test results

Upgrading of all test methods, equipment and facilities to ensure continued compliance to current standards

Problem solving to resolve out of specification results

Monthly report on department output indication microbiological control of factory site.

Monitoring and ensuring internal and external audit compliance to both regulatory requirements and standards.

Administrative duties to ensure easy retrieval of test results, reports, protocols, etc.

From time to time carry out other jobs within the department / factory, which are consistent with the grade, qualification and training of the incumbent.

Control and optimise the cost within the department

Set quality and performance KPI’s for the department and monitor the departmental performance on a defined frequency

Continuously improve processes to introduce World Class Manufacturing practices within the business

Identify opportunities for productivity and efficiency improvements

Manage all personnel in the department including disciplinary procedures

Ensure that all personnel in the department is developed and trained as required by the various job functions

Recruitment of staff

Staff development regarding identifying needs and opportunities

Performance Management evaluation

Review salaries and promotions if applicable

Implementation of equity plan as set out in the Employment Equity Policy

RELEASE PHARMACIST  (Contract)

Port Elizabeth / Eastern Cape

Requirements:
BPharm / Dip. Pharm
Registered Pharmacist with South African Pharmacy Council
Previous experience / background in industry / technical manufacturing / validation activities as well as possession of formal quality control qualifications would be advantageous
 
Responsibiliites:
Approval and Release of production batches
Review of batch documentation: Assessment should embrace all relevant factors including production conditions, results of in-process testing, review of manufacturing, packaging and laboratory documentation and compliance with finished product specification.
When all required parameters are satisfied including the documentation audit, the release pharmacist may recommend release of the product from its quarantine status.
Approval and Release of Third party manufacture products Printed packaging  and Intermediates
Responsibility for ensuring that requirements with regards to release of finished products have been me
Involvement in decision making of rejected goods, materials, components.
Monitoring and auditing compliance to both regulatory requirements and in-house standards with regards to current good manufacturing practice.
Participate in internal audits
General process evaluation.  This includes reporting of observed deficiencies to the correct persons and follow-up on corrective action, liaising with production where necessary.
Involvement in project decisions which may affect the quality of product.
Shared responsibility with production for the investigation into a solution of quality problems as well as preventative planning and action.
Provision of assistance to production with pharmaceutical cover when so necessary e.g. Compounding, line opening, dispensing, where there is no conflict of interest.
Input into factory training needs.
Co-ordination, checking and sign-off of Certificates of Analysis and Certificates of Conformance for third party manufactured products and exports.
Transfer of released stock from quarantine to the finished goods warehouse on the computer system.
From time to time, carry out other jobs within the   factory /department, consistent with the grade qualification and training of the incumbent.
